Pretty!

We could see red and yellow on the big island. We thought maybe there were flowers or grasses. We couldn't tell. It was far away.

Islands

The large island is Deserta Grande. The islands have several species of birds, rabbits, goats, lizards and even tarantulas as well as Mediterranean Monk Seals.

Speed boat

The Desertas Islands are protected and uninhabited. You need a permit to go there. This boat looked like it was coming from there. I'm sure security was on high alert when they came near the ship.

Desertas Islands

After we left Funchal we sat in the atrium a bit and then back to the room. We sat out on the balcony and saw the Desertas Islands.
